About
My main areas of expertise include Continental philosophy, history of philosophy, philosophy of religion, and philosophy of literature and of film, with a special emphasis on the performative aspects of philosophizing (philosophy as a “way of life,” self-creation, “dying for an idea”), the literariness of philosophical texts, and the role played by the cultural, religious and political contexts in their production.
Current research (book project): "Philosophy as an art of dying"
The book considers “dying for an idea” in the history of Western philosophy as a distinct intellectual, cultural, and political phenomenon, worth studying in its own right and from an interdisciplinary perspective. It casts new light on the role of performative aspects of philosophizing and seeks to re-establish a vital connection between thinking and living (which of course includes dying).
