Mark Gring researches and teaches in the areas of rhetorical theory, rhetorical history, rhetorical criticism, persuasion, and social movements.  His area of special interest is in the ways our epistemological assumptions affect our thoughts and actions - especially how religious thoughts/arguments affect sociopolitical changes.  He is also a co-author, along with Susan K. Opt, of the book, The Rhetoric of Social Intervention: An Introduction (2008)) published by Sage Publishers Inc. You can find it at:
